Don’t Carry Those Bags

Sorry I haven’t posted on here in awhile. Through agreeing to do this blog, I’ve found that I’m really bad at being consistent. I’ve also discovered that I’m not good at preparing for stuff ahead of time. I’m trying to work on these things!

This morning I was carrying Ry, my bag, her bag, and a jug of water (for her formula at daycare.) I had just gotten down the stairs from our apartment and was focusing on juggling everything in my hands when ! BAM ! I found  myself on the ground.

I hurt my foot just a bit, but other than that me & Ry are fine. Okay, maybe I hurt my pride a little too!

While driving to work, I was thinking about how embarrassed and overwhelmed I felt. That’s when I remembered that song they used to sing at church camp “Cast your burdens.. on Jesus.. cause He cares.. for YOU!”

Jesus whispered, “That isn’t just fluff. I didn’t put that scripture in the Bible simply because I needed to put something in there. I meant it.”

1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Have you ever felt like you keep “tripping” in life because you’re trying to juggle a lot? Or find yourself on the ground (feeling low) with your “bags” scattered around you? The “bags” we carry daily, whether to you that represents your past, your anxiety, or even stress from your job, tend to overwhelm us. They trip us up and keep us from not only our peace, but potential in Christ. We aren’t meant to carry them!!Taking them upon ourselves only prevents us, not propels us.

Let this be your reminder that whatever burden you’re carrying, so tightly, is not yours to hold. You don’t have to “handle” everything. You don’t have to worry. You don’t have to carry the weight of everything on your shoulders. Jesus wants to take your “bags” - but you have to let go of them. No take-backs. Fully surrender and receive His peace. Because He truly does care. Every little detail of you matters to Him.

Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
